I've been trying to create a photobook with Scribus, but the interface is
extremely laggy, so much so that I can't use the software.

Dear Maintainer,
I have found an issue in opening .docx files. When I try to open a .docx file I
see the startup screen, when it closes, the program terminates with a
segmentation fault as I can see with "dmesg".

I've searched on the web for a solution but I haven't found nothing yet. I
think it could be a bug because some months ago I was able to create such kind
of bridge.

Sorry for the late. I had never compiled the kernel before. I compiled the
kernel 2.6.35.7
I followed the steps:
1 - Download and untar the kernel in /usr/src.
2 - # make localmodconfig
3 - INSTALL_MOD_STRIP=1 CONCURRENCY_LEVEL=3 fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd
--append-to-version=-i386-edps --r

I tested without the nvidia driver and the problem continues to happen.
I did 3 tests:
1 - With Nvidia driver installed and using nvidia driver
2 - With Nvidia driver installed but using nv driver instead of nvidia
3 - With nvidia drver uninstalled and using nv driver. The lsmod does not
Today, I got the same error after the boot, more or less with three minutes
in use.
The filesystem is remounted read-only and the messages like that are showed
(Dmesg did not save the log because the filesystem become read only)

It still happens in 2.6.32-23. I forgot to say, this problem happens since I
formated the HD to ext4 using Debian daily buid of 23th july and I
reinstalled the system. That time, the kernel version was 2.6.32-17(I think)

Once it happens almost every boot, I use the GParted
I'm sorry for my hasty sending a bug report. I solved the problem. I
found that files in /usr/lib/apt/methods were wrong, so I extract them
from the .deb package and replaced old versions with new. Now apt
works. I don't know which operation caused that problem.

This problem occurred with me too. But, only in new installations.
In my job, we have 10 computers with Debian Lenny, and when I upgraded
synaptic, it worked fine.
But, when I installed the latest release (18- august - 2008) in 2 others
computers, I only see the message message box saying that my

Actually, I used 2 DVD drives, but in both I tried to install using CD and
DVD.
Do you know when the Lenny beta 2 will be released?

The new version, 2.4.0-3 resolved the problem. The characters and
images are displayed correctly.
