I do think that we should always run with accessibility enabled and we don't
do that for a reason.
One thing to fix for linux accessibility is listening to the change signal on
for a11y being enabled or not. If I recall correctly list

The patch from
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2009-March/044396.html
(updated to work with the current package) helps for me.
The crash happens most often when highlighting text in KMail.
