The screen-profiles-1.x series of packages has been superseded by the
byobu-2.x series.
I have just poked Reinhart about uploading byobu-2.8 to Debian, where
this issue is fixed. In that version, the dpkg-diversion is dropped.
Users of byobu will need to launch

The libpam-runtime and pam-auth-config changes are dependent on some PAM
enhancements by Steve Langasek which are in Ubuntu, but might not yet be
in Debian. I'll ask Steve to comment on what's missing in Debian,
