Hi all, I experienced similar problem on an ASUS X20E1 with pre-installed Windows 8 image and UEFI. I used Wheezy RC1 netinst image fetched from the site and dd-ed to the USB stick. In order to install Debian I had to turn off Secure Boot in ASUS UEFI menu. After I checked if Windows 8 still boot
