Update: deleting ~/.config solved the problem
I can confirm this behavior on my Debian unstable system with nautilus
3.26.0-1.
However: if I create a new user, for the new user, nautilus works fine
and as expected. So this problem seems somehow related to user
settings. I don't know how though.
