The bbold font (sans serif blackboard bold) included with
texlive-fonts-extra cannot be used at point sizes other than
5,6,7,8,9,10,12,17. Metafont fails with hundreds of lines of errors,
beginning with:

Bugs 342788 (recently merged with this one), 342316, and 342371 all
seem to stem from the lack of symlinks in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/.
Possible fix: Duplicate the contents of /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ (or
the old /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins) in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/
