really disappointed that Debian - or this package maintainer - doesn't
give a damn about doing the right, ethical thing here.

Since I'm the one that burden is imposed on, and you cannot even see it, I'm
curious why you belive you would be able to judge whether that burden is
significant or not.

I'm an idiot. It's not exposed anywhere in the settings dialogs that I can

Dear Maintainer,
Hi - Cinnamon in previous versions had an exposed preference to allow you to
move the default panel from the bottom of the screen to the top.
It appears in Cinnamon 3 - at least in 3.2.7 as shipped by Debian in

Dear Maintainer,
Hi - a minor bug but it affects usability. If you "add applets" to the default
panel, choose to add an "application launcher", then it adds a default launcher
pointing to the file browser application, with appropriate folder ico
bout it.

That's a typo. I meant "without affecting getmail".

Sorry, but you seem to have completely misunderstood how this works. That
wouldn't do what you think it would - not even close.

never want to retrieve mail from the corresponding POP/IMAP account or folder

I ran into this as well. I can confirm that it's already been fixed upstream;
the current git tree has no problem with a 5.5TB partition I tested.

This isn't a bug, it's a configuration error. That configuration should
specify the -f option in such a way that it always gets a value:
arguments = ("-i", "-f", "%(sender)", "mym...@mydomain.com")
