I need to say that I have held the winbind package on some other lenny
nodes.
On nodes on which winbind version 2:3.4.2-1~bpo50+3 is running, the
above problem does not occur, and for me it is more stable.

I should also add that I have lenny hosts (2.6.26-2-686) where I use winbind
from backports (3.4.3-1~bpo50+2).
I have two domains:
A -> one which is controlled by a windows 2008 r2 english-based server
B -> one which is controlled by a windows 2003 sp2 french-based server

2:3.4.2-1~bpo50+3 ) and the problem does not exist any more in samba 3.4
