This is not a bug in the debian `time' program , but you get this
problem when you use Bash (or another shells) built-in time command.
Use /usr/bin/time and you will see that all works as expected.

I've got the exact same problem and ran wine with "+x11drv,+bitmap,+seh"
for you and saved it to a log file. It is > 15000 lines so I didn't want
to paste it in this mail, but I put it online at:

I tried running wine with WINEDEBUG=all, but the logfile gr
apologize. I tested it again and indeed found that rubber returns
error code 1. I must have made some mistake last time I checked, though
I don't know how. Now I know that rubber returns a good error code I can
easily modify the builder to clean up in case of errors.
