I belive the issue is fixed in recent versions of eom.
I can't reproduce the issue in eom 1.22.2-1 . I tested with 1x1
images (jpeg) in it, and it works fine and very fast.

libaudio-dev built from source in 64 bit. For 32 one would need a chroot
with alocal debian to not affect the system.
