I understand Debian Stable = frozen packages, but is this really not something

version or not. If we want to continue to retain, we may want to have
both (e.g.) xpdf-motif and xpdf-qt (and default is xpdf-qt).

This is an update to my previous response (copied below). I purged Kodi and
pulseaudio, since it was after installing those items that my system went
completely black screen.
Surprisingly, a reboot brought up a working SDDM login screen, but after
logging in I'm presented with a black KDE deskt
