I am having trouble getting GDB 6.8-2 installed. Setup
says that that
is the version but running GDB says "GNU gdb
6.8.0.20080328-cvs
(cygwin-special)".
I have uninstalled and re-installed just to make sure I
am not running
any other gdb. I was really looking forward to the
fork-support.

In fact, the package is named gdb-6.8-2.tar.bz2 but
when untar'ed displays binaries from 6.8.0.

I'm interested in maintaining the cygwin port of Cgreen, a modern unit
testing and mocking framework for C and C++. I am one of the committers
on that project and have used Cygwin as one of my major development
platforms for many years and wanted to give something back.
