What exactly do you mean by "there is no file installed" and how did you
come to this conclusion? Did you run ssmtp-config? It will set
everything
are you sure that /usr/sbin/ssmtp.exe doesn't exist?

Hi folks,
I have a problem with installing ssmtp. I tried to reinstall ssmtp but
it doesn't help. When I check the status of the package it sayes OK.
Doesn't that mean that all files of the package are installed. But when
I try to list the files of the package no file is found.
How could I fix it

No 'setup.log' or 'setup.log.full' files in the directory with 'setup.exe'?
What part of creating the 'cygcheck' information caused you problems?

Folks,
I have tried to install Cygwin numerous times on XP professional

I have tried to install the base plus other individual packages but
finally just tried the default install.
I've tried it for all users and just me, I've tried it for both Unix and

I'm attempting to install wxPython from the source wxPythonSrc-2.5.2.7
on Cygwin.
I am able to run 'configure' ok, but when I run the make file i get
the following error:
In file included from include/wx/gsocket.h:172,
from include/wx/sckaddr.h:24,
from include/wx/
You can edit the file directly if you prefer. I was just trying to
provide you with a mechanism which would allow you to regenerate your
/etc/passwd file in the future without needing to re-edit it each time.
But if that's not a concern for you, just run your favorite editor and
have at it! ;-)
Larry,
Thanks for all the help. Sorry to keep beating this
subject down, but I hope this can be my last question.
What problems will I have with simply changing the
path for my home dir in /etc/passwd?
Do I have to use the mkpasswd cmd that you showed
below?
Thanks,

Our NT_Services group here changed some "start-up"
scripts which were setting $HOMEDRIVE. I just had to

Jason,
I finally got a chance to upgrade to the 1.3.19-1 cygwin1.dll and
the mmap error has disappeared! Apache 1.3.24-5 is working fine

I've showed it to people at work and they can't believe it.
