Sorry, no not in this case. Charles' problem is that he has an app, 'sh',
which is built against Cywgin 1.5.7 but now he's running 1.5.5. That won't
work.

emacs, I decided to try to go back to cygwin 1.5.5.1 using setup.exe.
It installs without any complaints and tells me to reboot before using.
