gcc error in Cygwin

Hi, I'm using the makefile that came with the code I'm working on and I cant seem to get it working in the Cygwin system even though it works perfectly fine in SUN. I'm using gcc version 3.4.4 (cygming special, gdc 0.12, using dmd 0.125) The errors I received state something like cc: Unrecogn

cygwin terminal question
