scp command:
e.g. scp -vvv -oHostKeyAlgorithms=ssh-rsa 'root@pontius:~/.ssh/authorized_keys'

I may be able to shed further light on the fork problems I have been
experiencing.
I think it has to do with the number of CYGWIN processes on the system as I was
monitoring during one of the fork storms as it were.
I think the system is running out of a resource such as Process Con

trick.
This problem is to do with widely discussed fork problem.
On this version of CYGWIN (CYGWIN_NT-6.1-WOW64 SERPENS 1.7.17s(0.262/5/3)
20120827 05:19:25 i686 Cygwin) the problem appears more prevalent
Your snapshot seems to have done the trick - it is no longer crashing.
