One final note for anyone trying to get tftpd get working. I changed the inetd
wait/nowait flag to "nowait". With "wait" I noticed there were several tftpd
processes lingering around even after the tftp sessions were terminated.
tftp dgram udp nowaitroot/usr/sbin/in.tftpd in.tftpd /
I tried many of those links the other day. The patch wasn't compiling correctly
and the binary links are stale...

I can't stand hyperterminal. Does anyone have a port or patch of minicom for
cygwin/winXP? Is there something else like minicom I can use to talk over
serial cable?

Ok here's what I had to do to get the tftp daemon running.
I want to serve files from /tftpboot so I added that bit to the line in
inetd.conf. Then I had to install inetd as a service and start it. I had to
look at inetd source to find the -i option to install it as a service. There's
also a -r o
There's nothing in /var/log/tftpd.log
Here's what the windows "event viewer" logs show. They might be informative,
but they still don't help me much.
System logs:
first entry:
The tftpd service was successfully sent a start control
second entry:
The tftp service entered the stopped state

I'm trying to start the tftpd under windows XP without any luck. The
cygrunsrv.exe program that installs a program as a windows service seemed to
work for me when I set up the secure shell daemon some time back, but trying
the same thing for tftpd hasn't worked. Any ideas?
