Even if the experience is sub par,
Hello,
Apologies for what is probably such an obvious question, but some of the
utilities I wish to use do not support the latest cygwin dll. However, I
tried running the legacy setup but Cygwin will not start, with the Windows
7 Subsystem for Unix complaining of invalid applications and .pif fil

I don't know of a way short of hacking the source.
What's the mirror you'
Hi,
I realise the older version of Cygwin is no longer supported, but would
anyone know if there is a way to change the setup.ini that the legacy
setup looks for on the mirror?
I have to install the legacy setup as the Rockbox development packages I
want to use don't support Cygwin 1.7. However,

Hi,
Thanks, much app
the LVComSvr process in task manager. No problems now. I knew Logitech
had problems with its software, but thought this was restricted to its
keyboard/mouse products, wouldn't have thought it would still happen with a
webcam. Anyway, the end result is a full cygwin install as I wa

go. Phew!
Anyway the one final issue that remains is that I want to change the user
name that is the default user for my cygwin installation. At the moment
it's taking the name from my WinXP account name, so home/Hussein Patwa/.
I'd like to change it to something that doesn'
nd do it automated?) remove any junk later on.
Thanks again,

Hello,
Apologies if this is a duplicate question, but I've only been able to find
app-specific info so far.
I'd like to log all console activity, both input and output to a text file
for later review. Uses for this could be, for example, demonstrating an
operation to someone unfamiliar with cygw
quiet mode (or not quiet)

HI, and thanks. That works a charm. Hopefully this will also be of help
in the future to others.
Have a great weekend.

sorry for what is probably an extremely common and frustrating question.
