isql does not work in cygwin (bash or zsh)

I have been trying to connect to a SQL Server instance running on my local machine. It works fine using the MS-DOS shell, but hangs in cygwin. Perhaps something to do with the cygwin networking ? I can ping and ftp to external sites. Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks, David -- Unsubscribe in
