- we cannot reproduce the error: if we transfer the same original file again it
is transferred correctly.
Does anybody know such an issue or even a solution?

thanks to all suggestions and help that I received from you in the last
days, I was able of succesfully compiling a Linux kernel using Cygwin.
Here I report all the steps that I made, just in case someone else need this

I have installed cigwin on my W2K PC and all is very well functioning .
However if i try some commands like ls * or grep -i -l some_text * from a
directory whit a lot of files (7-8 thousand) i obtain this error
