After installing a recent DLL built from the git source tree I noticed:
~ ln -s /tmp/foo .
~ ls -l foo
lrwxrwxrwx 1 Mark None 12 Apr 15 23:44 foo -> /mnt/tmp/foo
Creating a symbolic link from a different directory adds "/mnt" to the
path stored in the link. I don't have a /mnt, env var 'CYGWI
Today I had the same problem with setup-x86_64.exe on Windows 10. I tried
using setup-2.899.x86_64.exe. It worked and Cygwin works. There was one
warning during the setup: "This setup is version 2.899, but setup.ini claims
version 2.904 is available...".

Thanks. That's \\?\C:\... and what I'm seeing is \??\C:\...
Is that just a typo/bug? That's the discrepancy that was confusing me :-(
A bug.

Thanks. Can you explain what the \?? prefix on the Installations
values is about? I'm nervous that there's something going on there
that means that just ignoring the first 3 characters isn't
sufficient... ;-)

Hello Cygwin Support,
I am trying to install Cygwin silently through a management tool like SCCM
(called Bigfix). I went through the FAQ on your website to see what
commands/switches existed. I would like to install silently without any user
interaction and so I attempted to use setup-x86_64.e

Hello,
After the release of the new pkg-conf, with the use of symlinks
instead of a script for using the personality feature, I got some
strange errors at compile time.
Let's think to have a directory called "mylibrary" into your home
directory, so you have a path for example "/home/carlo/mylibrary
