create virtual webcams ?

hi is it posible to create a virtual webcam (use a video file instead of a real webcam as source) using cygwin ? could it be done using mplayer and redirect the output to a windows drive ? why do i need a virtual webcam ? because im a flash developer and im working in a multiplayer game whe
