I'm trying to setup a series of windows computers to automatically
back themselves up to a remote rsync server. To accomplish this
I installed cygwin with cron, ssh, and rsync on all the systems.
However, a couple systems will not backup, looking at the logfiles
reveals comments like "file has van

when porting new daemons to Cygwin, it is necessary to add a Cygwin
specific option to prevent fork()ing.
Otherwise, running as service via cygrunsrv would not be possible.
For daemons which are able to write /var/run/daemon.pid files, this pid
can be used to track the daemon.

I wrote a small program in order to get an idea of context switch
times of the Linux kernel. The program runs fine on Linux. Valgrind
2.2.0 does report the program to be clean. Just out of curiosity, I
tried to compile and run the same program with Cygwin. However, on
cygwin it segfault
