I downloaded the latest full Cygwin packages on 1/3/2005.

Wow! You're not kidding - cygwin cvs performance is comparable to
native performance on local drives.
I'm obviously going to look through the archives to see previous
discussions of network drive performance. In the meantime, do you know
if the problem is one that just lacked someone willing to

Can anyone speculate as to why cygwin cvs is so much slower than their
native windows equivalents?
In short, 'cvs update' using cygwin cvs takes 7-9 times as long to do
the same task as a non-cygwin port of cvs from www.cvshome.org/.
To update a missing directory that contains almost 3000 file

Totally agree. "Negative" is the correct word. I never felt so much of it (I'm
talking about just certain members, of course) on any other lists. This is
just sad.
I'll be plain. I try to contribute feedback to open source projects
that I use. I've had my own projects, and know how hard it is to get
feedback. I like Cygwin. It lets me switch between Unix and Windows
configurations relatively easily.
I am, however, greatly disappointed at how negativel
Charles, how about a new cvs update?
1.11.17 (2004-11-03) and
probably as [test] the 1.12.11 release also. (2004-12-13)

There are multiple bug fixes in both branches.

This is the first upstream teTeX 3.0 release candidate. When

teTeX 3.0 is a major upgrade. As such you may find the release notes in

That's a really nice attitude. I don't expect anyone to bend over
backwards, but a little QC would be nice. If you would prefer that
professionals using Cygwin with commercial configurations do not provide
feedback, I suggest you update the fact and just say so.

Hi Folks,
Here's the conclusion to my sshd journey. Larry was correct.
When installed properly, sshd should "just work", even using keys & with
multiple users.
Here's an exact record of the process I used for those considering embarking
on this journey
for themselves. :-)

I have updated the version of cron on cygwin.com to 3.0.1-17.
This version solves a package bug. -16 was mistakenly packed with
paths prepended by "./". There's no change in functionality.
