Automatic variable $< doesnt increment to the next source file while compiling

Hi, I am using make (version 3.81) for compilation. However the automatic variable $< doesnt increment as expected and uses the 1st source file itself for compiling all the objects. However the other automatic variable $@ seems to be working fine. Regards Ra

I could have sworn that the error I was getting was with GNU make 3.79.1 and that this GNU make was indeed in my path! Anyway, it seems to be working now with GNU make so I guess I must have had the wrong make in my path when I was getting that error! Thanks anyway... -- Rahul V. Herwadkar
