Hello,
I've got a couple of question when looking at Hurd boot sequence. To
start the system, Grub (or any other multiboot bootloader) launch 3
modules : the kernel, the exec server and the filesystem server. But,
how thoses 3 modules know each other ? I can't figure out what low level

I did begin looking into it at one point. It didn't look to me like there
was anything in Darwin that was actually using Mach IPC. I got suspicious
whether the features would really still work or not. Someone would have to
try playing with Darwin's Mach calls to find out.

Hello,
libpthread headers like pthread.h or mutex.h contain extern inlines that
don't have a compatibility hack to work when the "-ansi" cflag is enabled.

Reading this mail by Roland McGrath, I noticed the question whether it's
possible to port the Hurd to Darwin. I found some documentation[1]
about Darwin kernel programming and my first look catches promisin

I remember seeing something about a MIPS port, but that was long
ago. Same for a PPC port. What went wrong ?
There are efforts for Hurd/Alpha[1] and Hurd/PowerPC[2]. As you may
guess, there is some Alpha code in G
