This patch is cosmetic, but it helped me debug since I couldn't get
gdb to print errno, where it would print error.
Is this the better way to return the error? If yes, I will go through
the rest of the hurd source looking for similar situations and fix them
as well.

At long last, I have succeeded in getting the following program
to produce and read a core file under the Hurd:

This is not a done project, but I think enough is working to

You were completetly right. There's no bug. Sorry, for bothering you.
Calling device_write with an invalid data_count, device_write will return
an error (D_INVALID_SIZE). I didn't checked the return v
