A kludge
This kludge compiles the testcase. But I am not sure if it is correct.

When compiling the attached file, ld gets a segmentation fault. If I make the
template smaller or make a few other minor changes to the template (such as
changing the default template argument from Null to int), I do not get a
segfault.
I am using stock binutils (2.17) and gcc (4.1.2) on Suse 1
