On second thought, rather than make you dig through the gcc pr,
I've put a complete test case at

Even with compression the test case is 3 times too big to add
as
The output of -Map is produced at the end of linking,
and is *not* produced if relocation errors occur.
This lack of map file can make it very difficult to
understand why a relocation was out of range.
