For .nl, we give registrars discount if their domain names comply to a number
of standards, including DNSSEC [1].
Afaik, also .se and .ch have similar incentives.
And in the Netherlands, also government websites have to comply to a number of
standards, like DNSSEC [2].

I was wondering if BIND uses the same server selection algorithm for root
servers as for other “normal” authoritative name servers, e.g. the ones of TLDs?
Together with my colleagues from SIDN Labs and researchers from USC we looked
into authoritative name server selection “in the wild” and

On this date, the root servers received a high number of queries (but by far
