Is there a best way?

Let me refrase my question. How can I notify a slave that suports different
views for the zone? How can the master distinguish?
Thanks in advance,

Hi all,
I'm using bind as frontend solution and I have another server as backend and
I'm implementing zone transfer between the two (bind is the slave and my
server is the master). The problem is that I want to use dns views. Bind
supports it but my backend server is currently not supporting. I'm
Hi,
Can anyone tell me the maximum size for DNS messages using TCP? I scanned
all RFCs that I knew, but I can't find the answer. The problem is that I'm
integrating my BIND server with a DNS name server which can only send AXFR
answers with a 65535 maximum message size.
Thank you,
LS

Sorry for the spam, but again regarding question 2, is it possible for the
name server to respond without the authoritative flag set and then BIND
could contact other servers?

Hi all,
I'm configuring my BIND server and I have two questions related with
forwarding.
1 - I need to be a slave for the zones "testing.es" and "testing2.es" but
everything else must be redirected to the 10.112.15.3 server. Do you think
the example bellow is correct? The problem is that everytim
Hi all!
I read in some previous posts that you don't agree of not having cache in a
name server. The problem is that I wanted to have a bind server
resolving external queries and doing cache but not for a specific zone that
I use "forward".
client->ns#1(forward)->ns#2
That specific zone is priva
Hi all,
I want to have two dns servers in the same machine, and I want the first
one to forward the dns messages to the second. The problem is that I don't
know how to configure bind to forward for a port different from 53. Is that
possible?
Many thanks.
Kind Regards,
Luis

Hi all,
I have a question related with the contacting external servers.
If my server receives an referral answer from an external server with 3 NS
records but just 1 A additional record, what is the normal behaviour? is the
server supposed to resolve all 3 nameservers or continues with the iterativ

Hi all,
I'm having a question related to querying external servers that hope you
could answer me. I'm sending a iterative query for an external server and
the server is sending a referral answer but only with the authoritive name
servers. After that, i send a query A asking the nameservers ip addr
