I recently saw a presentation which referenced a framework to test out Infiniband (or maybe in general MPI) fabrics. This was a Github repository. It ran a series of inter-node tests and analysed the results. It seemed similar in operation to Linktest https://www.fz-juelich.de/ias/jsc/EN/Expertise
