The PKGBUILD was updated once, right after I filed my deletion request. But the
package was dead on arrival: it cannot be built.
There are no votes or comments on its AUR page. [1]
Better to delete in favor of the much better maintained AUR/python-simpleitk.

Old, outdated, but seemingly unused binary package for Python 3.9.
Uses pip for installation, which is not allowed by Arch Python package
guidelines.
There's a newer AUR/python-simpleitk pkg.
