Please disregard message. It turns out after I added my user to the audio
group I forgot to reboot the system.
Now the system has been rebooted, alsa works as expected.

If I run mpv --really-quiet followed by a file name I get an error:
ALSA lib pcm_direct.c:2180:(_snd_pcm_direct_new) unable to create IPC
semaphore
This happens with jack2 or jack-pipewire installed.
The user is in the audio group but beyond this, I don't know how to solve
this problem.
