What command exactly?
Did you configure your BIOS or UEFI to not be hostile to booting from
USB (Secure Boot off, TPM off)?

Arch does have more software in their repositories compared to Debian.
I would rather make the comparison of Arch having more
softrware/packages, but Debian has more developers explicitely
targetting for it and supporting it.

Without context we can only guess, but it sounds like a secure boot error.
Perhaps try again with secure boot turned off?
