Hi guys:
I've installed Gnome and I don't really want to run it from the
GDM. So, I went into the directory /etc/skel/ and have erased
the comment lines off of exect gnome-session. When I type
startx, and press alt+F2 to run and type Orca, nothing seems to
happen.
Also, I have the VirtualBo
I am trying to edit the xinitrc file so that when I type startx,
Gnome will start. It seems that something has gone wrong with
the drivers, because I get a result that I need to get
information from a log file. I have the link here:

Hi all. I've been searching around on the internet, trying to track
down information on this topic, but I can't find a clear cut guide.
So, my question is this: how do you make your own sound notification
scheme for Gnome?
Hi all. I tried to install KDE for testing accessibility with Orca. However,
a friend of mine told me that the only icon that shows up is a hard drive,
and it sits at this icon forever and won't load. What could be going wrong?
Nothing on the forums shows information on this issue.
Hi all. After installing Arch and getting everything all nice and
setup, I've hit a bit of an issue. When I boot in to the system, I get
this: Arch: clean, 210545/15269888 files, 2401901/61048873 blocks.
This number is permanent, and won't move. It may be an issue after
installation of Gnome. I can

Hi all. I've got an iPod touch fifth generation, iOS 7.1, and I am
trying to mount it to my Arch Linux box so I can get all the music off
it. However, when I connect the cable, I get an alert from the iPod
asking if I trust the computer. I tell it trust, and the computer,

How on Earth do I import all my tunes in an orderly and organized
manner? Windows is out of the question here, since my computer doesn't
have enough metal to run it properly.

Hello:
I have come accross an interesting issue with Java. Let's say I
fashion a simple Hello World app, and entitle it hello.java The code
would be:
class hello
{
public void main(String[] args)
{
System.out.println("Hello World!");
}
}
Then, I compile the code as a regular user, with javac hello.

I got an ergonomic keyboard in exchange for a wireless keyboard that did
not work. There are cool buttons on this keyboard that give you the
ability to reply to emails, forward emails, control media, etc. How do I
get these features to work with the keyboard with Arch Linux?
