Thanks for your kindness reply!
I'm almost sure that it is not the swap partition's problem.
My KDE runs prefectly, but when any GUI program which use TK library starts,
the hard disk will keep busy for VERY long time, and the keyboard can not input
into other program for a long time. When the TK
Hi, all
I found that on my arch (64bit), GUI program which use TK lib runs versy slow,
and it also suspend the KDE for a long time to response to the keyboard.
I found that when those program begin, the hard disk LED blink many many

Hi, dear arch developers,
Would you please update GCC packages?
The PPL package was updated(0.12-1 -> 0.12.1-1),
that cause gcc-multilib 4.7.0-4 can not run:
#sh> gcc main.c
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.7.0/cc1: error while loading shared
libraries: libppl.so.10: cannot
Hi all,
I noticed that there are some games in the community repo.
Some of them has _HUGE_ data packages.
Why not create a new repo for those games? That will save
some bandwidth if a mirror maintainer decided to not support
games.
By far, not everyone play game on our ArchLinux.
Yes Sir!
Done!!

Hi,
I think bochs should add --enable-gdb-stub option when configuring.
I build the modified PKGBUILD, It works.
The pkgbuild script is in the attachment.
Kevin,
Could you please adopt my adives? # $Id: PKGBUILD 127309 2011-06-13 01:13:14Z kevin $

Hi, all
I don't understand kdeartwork-wallpapers pkg are in different arch ?
It should be a pkg with "-any" arch suffix, in my opinion.
Hi, all
I found the texlive-x-doc packages vanished, 32/64 bit are all vanished.
anyone are kind enough to tell me the reason?
The shutdown script was written without thinking the diskless machine.
It try to bring down the network and to do more works to clean the machine.
But in diskless system, if the network is bring down, the rootfs can not be
accessed anymore, so the shuting down process will dead ..

Hi all
Anyone has intesting about bug 17474 (at http://bugs.archlinux.org/) ?
When a kernel param begins with digital, the initrd scrip (/lib/initcpio/init)
will fail. At least one such kernel param is found: "8250.nr_uarts=xxx"
Because the 8250 is a driver name and that driver is compiled
OK, ok, I want install qemu+kqemu and KVM in my machine.
Why does they conflict?
Sometime, I want my virtual machine run faster, so KVM
is a great choice. But sometime, I need simulate other
CPU: ppc arm ... , so qemu is the best choice.
Why does them conflict? Can the community do so
I have the same problems.
Maybe it is a good design?

By the way: reinvent the wheel may be an interesting
progress.

Hi,
It is just an idea, nothing more than it.
These days, I had think more than had done anything( a bad hehaver)
As an clumzy idea, git will help to manage the config/build script files.
And binary pkgs and source pkgs should be maintained by something else.
As an embeded engi
Hi all
When I insall archboot package, the dependency failed.
I can ensure that the vim is the most up-to-date version.
Maybe the "vim>=7.2.234-1" should be "vim-7.2.23-4-1"
# pacman -S archboot
resolving dependencies...
warning: cannot resolve "vim>=7.2.234-1", a dependency of "archboot"
#
Is it possible?
advantage:
1 The mirrors do not need download the total new pkgs if it just
updated several files.
2 old versions of package can be retrived.
3 GIT is fast.
4 It seems cool!
dis-advantage:
1 It is a torture of GIT
2 Huge of works to be done.
As a temp methord,
cd /usr/lib
ln -s libjpeg.so libjpeg.so.62
resolved the bug
Anyother has the same problem?

`pacman -Ql ttf-ms-fonts ` gives funny result!
