Arch always did that automatically for me. I do know that you can set up
defaults and fallbacks in KDE just like in Windows. I'm not sure about GNOME,
though, as I have used KDE for a while.

Forgive any ignorance, but why do you want to buy a computer if you know its
optical drive is going to fail? This seems more odd to me when that
computer costs as much as a Mac. I would not buy a computer if I knew that
would happen.

Go ahead and tell it that xulrunner to be removed. If it is a dependency of
something else, pacman will automatically stop and tell you that.
