I fixed a bug in systemd where its binaries would output to the journal instead of stdout when invoked as a child process by pacman. This output was always there, you just didn't see it until now because it went to the journal instead of stdout. I get the same messages so I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi, We've been discussing the distribution mechanism for mkosi ( https://github.com/systemd/mkosi) and one of the ideas is using Python zipapp (https://docs.python.org/3/library/zipapp.html) to allow us to split mkosi up into multiple files for easier development without complicating the packaging

Alright, thanks for all the info. I'll leave this be for now until the C.UTF-8 support in upstream glibc is released. If they manage to reduce the size sufficiently to have it built-in, there might not even be anything to change on Arch's side. Daan
