FYI. This will cause problems with some services depending directly on
the gstreamer backend, Any volunteer welcome, as Amarok is one of the

I was planning to use the Phonon Gstreamer as a backend to decode
audio data for feeding into the lastfm fingerprinter. And also porting
my existing libofa (FFmpeg) code for chromaprint to the same. But
after this email, I think it will be a really bad idea. Please give
your inputs
