I suspect this is an easy one. I've finally gotten a version of slimserver to
run "off the shelf" (6.5.1), however, it won't play music. It's giving me a
permissions error. The music files are owned by slimserver:slimserver as is
slimserver.pl. But, ps -ef | grep slim shows the processes run
Nope FC5 using thr RPM. Files are local and exist. Nothing in the log. Support seems to have given-up on this.

Yes, this happened to me after an upgrade of 6.5 a couple of days ago.
I had to edit the prefs file manually to restore the correct settings
as all the screens claimed ";" was in use!
Do you recall which setting it was?

Installed 6.5 and the date/time display was fine. Then I enabled the rescan
plugin and *boom*, the time is now displayed as "12,42". Anyone else seen

Here what I did to get it working:
Clean-out 6.5 by manually deleting everything.
Install 6.3 from RPM.
Create a symbolic link /usr/local/slimerserver pointing to
/usr/local/SlimServer_v2006-05-06
Verify it works.
Delete /usr/local/SlimServer_v2006-05-06
Install 6.5 using tar -xzvf SlimServer_v

New info on this - seems running it using "service slimserver start" causes
slim to die when using a web UI. Starting it using ./slimserver.pl from the

Just installed 6.5 on FC5 x86_64. Replaced DBD::SqlLite with the one from
CPAN and got SlimServer running. Now, when I fire-up any web interface, it
dies. Any ideas?

I've got a 770 on the way, so I wanted to install the necessary skins. I tried installing 6.5... but had all sorts of issues. So I tried to fall back to the latest 6.2, and had the same issues. So then, I tried to fall back to my original install, and got the same messages. They are these:

I want to get the 2.6.15 kernel so I can try to use my DVICO Fusion 5 Lite with QAM. I've done kernel upgrades before, but never using yum with FC4. I installed using Jarod's guide, so what's the best way to do this?
