Subversion version 7.0 Beta2 release configure attempt error
Noting the Subversion 7.0 Beta2 is released we are attempting to get ahead start on user request to have Subversion install on our IBM servers. Our user community requested any near current version at least but notified they will require version 7.0 for their project needs. We have had difficulty in the past getting all the dependencies to configure correctly. Currently attempting this under AIX 5.3 but intend to use it under AIX 6.1 and 7.1 too. We understand that this version 7.0 is not fully released yet but if we can get it to configure and install would save us considerable effort in the near future. Of course we would like to get any version of Subversion to install on AIX too. The dependencies always seem to be the issue. I confirm that I did apply the dependency get-deps.sh successfully. Have tried numerous configure attempts to see if I can get it work within the package source directory. We hope to easily move it from server to server if this works. Getting what appears to be only one dependency error related to APR-util indicated. Unable to complete configure of 1.7.0 beta3 due to apr-util errors at end on AIX 5.3 OS
Have attempted to configure every version of 1.7.0 now at beta3 with same apr-util error running at the end under AIX 5.3 OS. Have tried numerous variations of the apr-util options to correct with no change. While we would like to have a working beta version of 1.7.0 beta3 in that it contains the dependencies so we can more easily move it to other AIX servers. Actually have never been able to even get 1.6.17 version to configure correctly for AIX 5.3 yet so thought to attempt this beta version. Either version as long as they would actual run under AIX is what we are looking for. Request for a successfully configured or compiled 'client' of Apache Subversion 1.7.0-rc3 release for AIX
Have tried to configure every release so far of Apache Subversion 1.7.0 for client with the same error given for apr_util. Also have varied the configuration trying to satisfy the error with each attempt on our AIX test servers. None have ever completed without this error. If there is any correction for our configuration or a completed compiled version for AIX we would appreciate a link to it.
