auto-props are currently for files only; they don't work for directories.

I don't know if there's a way to specify a multi-line property value in the 
auto-props. I didn't find a bug report about it but also haven't tried it 
myself.

I saw that in the bug report you quoted there is a reference to \n as 
new line, maybe both my issues will be addressed when that request will 
be fullfilled.

If it will actually be fullfilled...

Thanks anyway, until then I'll add the properties by hand.
