[Bug 448469] Re: when wireless connection is lost netbook must be restarted
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 429035 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429035 I can confirm that bug and I think it is not the #429035 bug. #429035 says that wlan random disconnects and connects to a network, but this bug says that after some time you cannot find any wlan networks and cannot connect to it. I use an Lenovo X200 and after some time (a lot of hours and after some suspends) i cannot find any networks, but the wired connection is working. Networking restart doesn't helped for me, and I couldn't find any workaround only restarting my computer. fwiw, the two commands to make it work again are: /etc/init.d/alsa-utils reset or killall pulseaudio i'm not sure if the fact that both of these commands work to resolve the problem helps to isolate it. my very limited understanding of the ubuntu sound system says that alsa-utils is a subset of pulseaudio, so the conclusion would be that the problem is alsa and not pulse, since bouncing pulse also bounces alsa, but bouncing alsa, does not bounce pulse. -- alsa plugin for browsers regularly stops working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/528661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 815055] Re: Samsung Galaxy SII not detected
i've got this same problem. i put a post about it on ubuntuforums but it's got at lot of views and 0 replies: mounting android - unable to see deeper than one level. having a somewhat bizarre problem that i hope the knowledgeable folks here might be able to help with. i tried to load some new music on my phone this morning, but i'm unable to see anything under the top level of the phone. e.g. i have all the directories under my phone, but all of them are reporting as empty through ubuntu. checking the filesystem on the phone, i see the content i expect. on phone i have: /sdcard/media/ringtones /sdcard/media/music /sdcard/media/alarms on ubuntu i have: SAMSUNG_Android/media/ i can create a new directory under media, say 'temp' and i see it on my phone. unmount, remount, temp is invisible to ubuntu. checking dmesg i am seeing the following error: [ 313.767405] usb 2-1.3: new high speed USB device number 7 using ehci_hcd [ 314.099858] iwlagn :02:00.0: Aggregation not enabled for tid 6 because load = 6 [ 315.324946] usb 2-1.3: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd gvfs-gphoto2-vo rqt 33 rq 102 len 0 ret -71 i'm not sure if it shoudl be mounted as a gphoto2 fs or not. it used to work, and when it did i wasn't paying attention to how it was mounted. i think, but i'm not certain that this problem has arisen as of the latest kernel update 3.0.0-12. i'm running ubuntu 11.10. the problem is consistent across both 64bit and 32bit. i am sad to say that mounting on a windows box i'm able to see all the directories as that seems to put the problem firmly with ubuntu. as of a kernel update i did last night, which oddly hasn't updated the kernel number in uname, the error is gone, but the behavior is still the same: ubuntu 11.10 64bit on a dell latitude e6410. $ uname -a Linux chen 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:56:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux dmesg: [10732.785245] usb 2-1.3: new high speed USB device number 5 using ehci_hcd [10732.877424] usb 2-1.3: config 1 has no interfaces? a bit more tinkering and i've managed to get it to work, but you have to put the phone into usb debug mode. on the phone, go to settings | applications | development. check 'usb debugging'. go back to your home screen. connect the phone to the computer. swipe down to open the notifications panel. press 'usb connected'. you should see a screen with a green android. press the 'connect usb storage' button. the android should turn orange. when i use this method dmesg has the following: [19402.127887] usb 2-1.3: new high speed USB device number 8 using ehci_hcd [19402.222023] scsi8 : usb-storage 2-1.3:1.0 [19402.222644] cdc_acm 2-1.3:1.1: This device cannot do calls on its own. [Bug 1082742] Re: plymouthd: ply-terminal.c: 611 ply_terminal_open: Assertion `terminal != ((void *)0)' failed.
Just a bit of extra info -- it's possible that this has been mentioned before. I am using Acer C710-2834 with Chrome OS installed via s9ryd script. In my case there are two (2) distinct behaviors. 1. Happens when the Chromebook is Running on Battery power. The message >>> plymouthd: ply-terminal.c:611: ply_terminal_open: Assertion 'terminal != ((void *)0)' failed appears and stays on the screen (forever, I guess). The log-in screen will not appear by itself. To get to the log-in screen, I have to close the cover and then reopen it. At various tries, different elements of the log-in screen will appear but I typically get the password text box. Typing the password will get me to the desktop. 2. Happens when the Chromebook is Running on Power Supply / Mains (the battery is inserted and "charging") The message >>> plymouthd: ply-terminal.c:611: ply_terminal_open: Assertion 'terminal != ((void *)0)' failed appears and stays on the screen for short time (2 to 3 sec). The fully rendered and working log-in screen will appear by itself. Typing the password will get me to the desktop. Hope this helps -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1082742 Title: plymouthd: ply-terminal.c: 611 ply_terminal_open: Assertion `terminal != ((void *)0)' failed. [Bug 1489558] [NEW] failed to open device 'snapscan:libusb:002:002
Public bug reported: I downloaded the debian driver package (iscan_2.24.0-4.ltdl7_i386.deb) for most Epson perfection scanners (mine is a 1670), installed it and attempted to run any of the 3 scanner programs. XSANE gave me the message: "failed to open device 'snapscan:libusb:002:002': invalid argument". Simple Scan gave me the message: "Unable to connect to scanner" Image Scan for Linux gave me the message: "Could not send command to scanner. Check the scanner's status. " I loathe the prospect of going back to my Vista box. how do I get my Ubuntu box to connect to the scanner. It's definitely posered, the USb is definitely plugged in; I'm out of my depth. The scanner works find with my Vista box, but I loathe working with vista. ** Affects: simple-scan (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1489558 Title: failed to open device 'snapscan:libusb:002:002 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/simple-scan/+bug/1489558/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
