Actually, my system use Debian stable (etch). I picked Ubuntu in launchpad.net
bug reporting system because the Debian option returned "the package is not
found in Debian". I think Debian and Ubuntu works similar.

This is what returned frm apt-cache policy epiphany-browser:

epiphany-browser:
  Installed: 2.14.3-7
  Candidate: 2.14.3-7
  Version table:
 *** 2.14.3-7 0
500 http://kambing.vlsm.org etch/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Sorry for the misplacement and thank you for the query. It delivered me a new
thing.

[Bug 116818] [apport] update-manager crashed with TypeError in timeout)()

2007-05-25 Thread yus budiyono
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

avahi-daemon slower the network and each computer in home network class a
(192.168) so i remove it.
on reboot, update manager report crashes.

on my next project, i would rather edgy (which was unstable during its early
issue but now is better) just to omit avahi..
we've done the network design anyway, so avahi would not be very beneficial.
Instead, I think it creates redundancy.

[Bug 112408] Re: Mail Merge Wizard crashes OpenOffice

2007-05-27 Thread yus budiyono
The problem is things when we choose a file (database, csv, etc) seems
not loaded since we cannot proceed by pressing the next button. I think
this bug goes the same direction when we create forms in openoffice base
using by means of wizard or manually. Hence, as people discuss in the
later case, the bug is with java in Debian.

Similar resolve, perhaps is by reinstalling Oo by means of Oo.deb
downloaded from Oo website.

Otherwise, you may try glabels which is simpler to use but richer in
feature than Oo's mail merge.

[Bug 84580] Re: avahi-autoipd causes failure if multiple networking stanzas exist

2007-06-03 Thread yus budiyono
Perhaps what I experience with Edubuntu goes the same way with this
thread.

The situation is we have mixed fixed IP computers and DHCP server at 6th
floor and Edubuntu at 3 floor.

The morning following an upgrade from Edgy to Feisty and do apt-get
install avahi to know how avahi perform, new computer in 3rd floor
cannot find any DHCP server.

I blamed it on the cables, which was true but networking is still in
trouble. Problem fixed when I disconnect Edubuntu, remove avahi.

In other office, avahi burdens networking and disturb samba from
recognizing other computers.

The two case lead me not to use avahi... :(

install avahi to know how avahi perform, new computer in 3rd floor
cannot find any DHCP server.

I blamed it on the cables, which was true but networking is still in
trouble. Problem fixed when I disconnect Edubuntu, remove avahi.

In other office, avahi burdens networking and disturb samba from
recognizing other computers.

The two case lead me not to use avahi... :(

[Bug 118328] Re: Feisty smbmount fails with Error

2007-06-03 Thread yus budiyono
We have 2 windows (xp and 2k) with plenty of shared folder inside which
actively accessed by 17 Ubuntu Edgy/Feisty clients.
For many time, shared folder connected through samba may disconnects. This also
occured in computer having automount during bootup via /etc/fstab.

If this is the case, you may do daisy-chain (as the solver name out
there) mounting by using 1 Linux computer automounting the share and
other Linux box access the shared folder through this computer.

It was said that XP home only accept 5 connection and XP Pro accept 10
connection.

My case: Windows shared folder is just not very pleasantly smbmounted.

Wait, I hope you put 0 0 or 0 1 in the end of your /etc/fstab line
