[Bug 469491] [NEW] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/kernel/power/suspend_test.c:52 suspend_test_finish+0x80/0x90() after resuming from suspend

2009-11-01 Thread uhhhh2
Public bug reported:

When putting the computer on suspend, a flash of text appears at the top
of the screen. I cannot read the text, as it disappears within the blink
of an eye. After waking the computer and typing in my password, I get an
alert that says that a serious kernel problem has been encountered, and
that my system will be unstable if I don't restart it.

I am using the final release of Ubuntu 9.10 desktop.

Here is the information for the linux package:

[Bug 495753] [NEW] rt61pci_set_device_state error on resume from suspend

2009-12-11 Thread uhhhh2
Public bug reported:

Each time I resume the computer from suspend, I get a black screen with
an error message that says "rt61pci_set_device_state: Error - Device
failed to enter state 1 (-16)." After a few seconds, more error messages
appear. Before I can read the additional messages, the computer finishes
resuming, and the screen unlocker appears. However, after every few
resumes from suspend, the computer cannot connect to my wireless
network, and I have to restart the computer.

[Bug 465993] Re: RT61PCI crashes

2009-12-11 Thread uhhhh2
I had a similar bug. When I installed the final version of 9.10, I tried
to connect to an encrypted wireless network. I entered the connection
settings into NetworkManager, but the computer just could not connect,
and constantly asked me for my network key. To fix this problem, I
created two connections in NetworkManager: one Ad-hoc and one
Infrastructure. The two connections have the same SSID and encryption
settings, but the IPv4 setting of the Ad-hoc connection is "shared to
other computers", and the other connection's IPv4 setting is "Automatic
(DHCP)". I created the connections so the Infrastructure connection is
listed first in NetworkManager.

[Bug 465993] Re: RT61PCI crashes

2009-12-11 Thread uhhhh2
When you resume from suspend, NetworkManager will use the Ad-hoc
connection. To use the Infrastructure connection, simply left-click on
NetworkManager and left-click on your connection.

** Description changed:

Each time I resume the computer from suspend, I get a black screen with
an error message that says "rt61pci_set_device_state: Error - Device
failed to enter state 1 (-16)." After a few seconds, more error messages
appear. Before I can read the additional messages, the computer finishes
resuming, and the screen unlocker appears. However, after every few
resumes from suspend, the computer cannot connect to my wireless
network, and I have to restart the computer.

+ messages appear. Before I can read the additional messages, the computer
+ finishes resuming, and the screen unlocker appears. However, after every
+ few resumes from suspend, the computer takes several minutes to
+ reconnect to the wireless network.
+
+ Steps to reproduce:
+
+ 1. Install a wireless adapter that uses the rt61pci driver.
+ 2. Use Gnome's NetworkManager applet to connect to a wireless network with
WPA encryption.
+ 3. Suspend the computer.
+ 4. Resume the computer from suspend.
