no noise calibration error yet. However, there appear warnings about the
backport modules in dmesg, see attached dmesg output.

I installed compat-wireless-2.6.32.8 and have not had the warnings I
mentioned in #22. I'll keep you informed if anything changes.

Hi Pepe,

Installed the kernel you mentioned above and the first result is
positive. Currently no "noise floor calibration failed" issue. Will
report again after some longer tests.

Device used:

Atheros Communications Inc. Atheros AR5001X+ Wireless Netwotk Adapter (rev 01)  
(according to lspci)
Atheros AR5213A chip
   (according to dmesg)

I have to disappoint you. Today I had another "noise floor calibration
failed" issue. It just took longer to occur.

Thanks for your respons. If it's a local configuration it only became 
apparent after the upgrade.  After some further searching on the web I 
started doubting whether I really needed winbind for my local network. 
So, I just removed it. Without any problems so far.
