[Bug 306214] [NEW] Patch for fixing distorted screen when using new early-resume-feature of TuxOnIce

2008-12-08 Thread tobydox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tuxonice-userui

TuxOnIce UserUI 0.7.2 lacks support for the newly introduced feature of
TuxOnIce for resuming without initrd. This results in garbage on screen
while resuming. Luckily this can be easily fixed by applying the
attached patch. Please include it in your package.

[Bug 306974] Re: Wishlist: Replace LMMS 0.3.2 with LMMS 0.4.0

2008-12-10 Thread tobydox
IMHO this is a duplicate of #299855 - Dave can you please check?

Furthermore I know the Debian maintainer of LMMS personally. He said he
won't upload (even to testing) until Lenny is released (and he's quite
busy with other stuff as well) so I'd be glad if you could take the LMMS
package from my PPA as base for the official package and upload it soon
:)

Besides this I advice to wait further 2 days because LMMS 0.4.1 with
important bug fixes will be released shortly.

[Bug 299855] [NEW] version 0.4.0 needs packaging

2008-11-19 Thread tobydox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lmms

LMMS 0.4.0 has been released 3 weeks ago which brings a lot of new
features and is far more stable than the old Qt3-based 0.3.x series (see
release announcement at
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=882978 for more
details). Therefore I strongly recommend to package 0.4.0 for Jaunty.

I already made 0.4.0 packages in my PPA at
https://launchpad.net/~tobydox/+archive so it should be little of work
to adept them for official Jaunty archives.

[Bug 389868] [NEW] Missing Intel Atom support

2009-06-20 Thread tobydox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: oprofile

OProfile 0.9.3 completely lacks Intel Atom support. I therefore suggest
to package a recent CVS version of OProfile in order to get according

Thanks for your remarks. I hope to have addressed all of them now.
Attached is a new patch. I'm however still unsure about the dpatch

some patches will appear soon (at least I plan to provide some, as 0.4.3
probably won't make it into Jaunty anymore).

2008-12-20 Thread tobydox
Dave, LMMS 0.4.2 has been released and I strongly advice to upgrade the
packages in Ubuntu as the 0.3.x series is not maintained anymore and is
quite buggy compared to the 0.4.x series (which in wide parts was
rewritten).

You should be able to upload the LMMS packages at
https://launchpad.net/~tobydox/+archive with minimal modifications only.
I also recommend to upload/include lmms-extras as it contains
ZynAddSubFX integration into LMMS which is used by many people.

Thanks!

I made a debdiff although I'm not sure whether everything is ok. One

New upstream is now available in Debian unstable (see
http://packages.qa.debian.org/l/lmms/news/20070907T164703Z.html)

Will LMMS 0.3.0 make into Gutsy? Would be really cool. I think it should not
be such a big problem, as no other packages are affected by it and 0.3.0
probably solves more problems than it introduces.

[Bug 139759] UVF exception request

2007-09-15 Thread tobydox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lmms

Version 0.3.0 of LMMS is available for about 4 weeks which brings lots of
improvements especially regarding stability. By packaging 0.3.0 most of the
bug-reports for this package can be easily closed. LMMS 0.3.0 is in Debian
unstable for about one week (see http://packages.qa.debian.org/l/lmms.html)
It really would be a pity if LMMS 0.3.0 was missing in Gutsy as users still had

2007-09-15 Thread tobydox
Modified source-package for Gutsy can be found here: http://www-user.tu-
chemnitz.de/~doto/lmms/ (the only difference to the official Debian-
package is another dependency (wine-dev instead of libwine-dev))

I prepared everything as you've requested: http://www-user.tu-
chemnitz.de/~doto/lmms/ubuntu/ Are you happy with that? What else do I
have to do now? Will someone upload this now?

[Bug 139759] Re: UVF exception request

2007-09-17 Thread tobydox
 - please adhere to http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebianMaintainerField next
time (I did that)

Means, I have to put my name and mail-address to debian/changelog /
Maintainer ? I know the Debian-maintainer of LMMS personally and I guess
he'd have no problem with its name listed there as differences between
Debian and the Ubuntu-package of LMMS are minimal and likely to be zero
in 0.3.0-2

 - please list the remaining changes we have compared to Debian - that's part
of the merge policy.

  * added alternative build-dependency wine-dev (which is libwine-dev in
Debian)

 - 'unstable' -> 'gutsy' in your changelog entry.

Do I still need to do this (and the other things) or did you do all
outstanding tasks?

[Bug 136980] new version with lots of bugfixes available

2007-09-03 Thread tobydox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lmms

Version 0.3.0 of LMMS is available for about 2 weeks which brings lots
of improvements especially regarding stability. By packaging 0.3.0 most
of the bug-reports for this package can be easily closed. The Debian-
maintainer of LMMS is currently preparing LMMS 0.3.0 and will upload it
within a few days. It really would be a pity if LMMS 0.3.0 was missing
in Gutsy!

[Bug 164904] Re: stray mappings left behind by xfs make xen kernels crash.

2008-01-16 Thread tobydox
I'm using the Debian-Etch-Xen-Kernel again (2.6.18) - it works rock
solid (uptime of more than 100 days etc.) compared to the Ubuntu-Xen-
Kernel which crashed for me almost every day, even without ext3.

[Bug 204017] [NEW] Various bugs/segfaults in 0.3.1 - patches to fix them

2008-03-19 Thread tobydox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lmms

LMMS 0.3.1 has various bugs (also segfaults) which are fixed in 0.3.2
release. As 0.3.2 won't make into Hardy, I created a set of essential
patches which incoorporate most important changes between 0.3.1 and
0.3.2:

* fix-dummy-plugin-implementations.diff:
   - if a certain kind of plugin could not be found, a dummy plugin is being
loaded but this is broken in 0.3.1 (i.e. segfaults) - the patch fixes this

* fix-effect-bugs.diff:
   - fixed wrong SIGNAL/SLOT-connection resulting in broken gate-knob
   - made effect-move-up feature actually work
   - do not crash when removing sample-tracks with effects inside

* fix-midi-import.diff:
   - use Patman-plugin (which plays MIDI-patch-files) as default-instrument
when importing MIDI-files to make the imported project actually sound like it
should

* fix-piano-roll.diff:
   - fixed key-pressure-MIDI-event while changing volume of a note
   - improved painting of volume-lines

* fix-track-removal.diff:
   - when removing all tracks, remove from last to first track to significantly
improve speed

* fix-vst-gui.diff:
   - VeSTige-plugin is broken with recent WINE-versions (i.e. the ones found in
hardy) - patch fixes usage of Win32-VST-GUI

* fix-wiki-url.diff:
   - the Wiki with help, manual etc. has been moved - reflect this change in
program/help-menu

_Please_ include as many as possible of these patches in order to provide an
usable and more stable version of LMMS in Hardy!

[Bug 200376] [NEW] VST-GUI doesn't show up anymore - fixed in LMMS 0.3.2

2008-03-09 Thread tobydox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lmms

Due to changes in recent WINE-versions the GUI of VST-plugins doesn't
show up anymore which is a regression over 0.3.0 in Gutsy. So please
package version 0.3.2 which just has been released and includes only
minimal changes (only bugfixes) over version 0.3.1. If you want I could
also prepare a patch against 0.3.1 which incoorporates important
changes.

[Bug 405318] Re: Please update lmms to 0.4.5 version

2009-10-25 Thread tobydox
I'd like to express my thanks as well.. nevertheless would it be
possible to integrate the small set of patches attached? LMMS 0.4.6 is
on the road and I picked the most urgent fixes (especially the VST fix)
and I'd love to see them being integrated into Karmic's LMMS package.
