[Bug 108891] Re: 7.04 cant find the partition (SOLVED)

2007-04-23 Thread totem
the problem was GRUB. the root-argument was /dev/hda2.
i changed it to /dev/sda2 - now it works.

but /dev/hda2 worked with earlier versions, weird...

[Bug 108891] 7.04 cant find the partition

2007-04-22 Thread totem
Public bug reported:

i have done the upgrade from 6.10 to 7.04 without problems.
after the reboot is ubuntu unable to find the partition. i get always the
message
"ALERT! /dev/hda2 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!"

the question for the raids i answered with "none", because i dont have raids,
just a single harddisk.
maybe is that the reason?
because, as far as i can remember, i answered during the upgrade to 6.10 the
question with yes.

my system is a p4

btw: the partition is ok, because i can use it from the gentoo-
partition.

[Bug 81057] Re: DNS Resolves everything to 1.0.0.0 intermittently on some ADSL Routers

2009-12-09 Thread toTem
Some workarounds that "solves" this stupid bug:
1) disable IPv6 in linux kernel: echo "1" >
/proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/disable_ipv6
2) disable IPv6 for the wget: edit /etc/wgetrc and add line "inet4_only = on"
