[Bug 213468] Re: wlan switch not working on Acer TravelMate 3010
i use 8.10 and the problem is different now. when wlan switch was in OFF state and i want to turn it ON, i have to reboot after pressing the wlan switch to make it work. when wlan switch is in ON state and i want to turn it OFF, i just have to press it and it works. strange behaviour, but i can live with it : ) -- wlan switch not working on Acer TravelMate 3010 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I second this, although it may not be a papercut. What token also meant and what the discussion didn't catch up is that a "Create Folder" and "Create Document" context menu is missing when right-clicking somewhere in a fully populated area in nautilus. You're just able to create a document by context menu when you click in a blank, unpopulated area in nautulus - which is a rather rare the case. -- 'Create folder in here' context menu option for nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/61786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1762986] [NEW] Display resolution of monitor via HDMI incorrectly identified
Public bug reported: I use a Philips BDM4037U 40'', 4k monitor. Connecting it via DP to my Lenovo 910 4k does work (except for random display blackouts). But when connecting it via HDMI the display resolution is sometimes correctly set (I cannot see a pattern when this works) but sometimes the display resolution is just set to FullHD, 1920x1080 Pixel @ 60Hz. [Bug 1762989] [NEW] Display Port issues - screen blackouts
Public bug reported: I use a Philips BDM4037U 40'', 4k monitor. Connecting it via DP to my Lenovo 910 4k gives me random blackouts. It appears to me that this mostly happens after some time of work, also more likely when the CPU has to handle more than average load, sooner in 30Hz than in 60Hz mode. But it happens for sure after some time, each day. I was unsure if this is a problem with the monitor itself (although when connected via HDMI this isn't an issue). I found similar bug reports for Windows, where it was suggested to update the firmware. My laptop has updated everything - a current BIOS (which dates back to June 2017 or so), updated Windows, latest Ubuntu. The same problem existed in 17.10, with x-org and Wayland sessions. Note, there is another issue with this monitor filed by me, but unrelated AFAIK: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1762986 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: linux-image-4.15.0-13-generic 4.15.0-13.14 [modified: boot/vmlinuz-4.15.0-13-generic] ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-13.14-generic 4.15.10 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-13-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: thet 1429 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Wed Apr 11 12:07:06 2018 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=bedd1248-32dd-43ca-be9f-28337086ea86 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-04-09 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Beta amd64 (20180404) MachineType: LENOVO 80VF ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-4.15.0-13-generic.efi.signed root=UUID=998520ff-c841-45ab-8312-2bb876ae2a0b ro quiet splash vt.handoff=1 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-4.15.0-13-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-4.15.0-13-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.173 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 05/31/2017 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 2JCN39WW dmi.board.asset.tag: NO Asset Tag dmi.board.name: Agera dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: SDK0J40709 WIN dmi.chassis.asset.tag: NO Asset Tag dmi.chassis.type: 31 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Lenovo YOGA 910-13IKB dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr2JCN39WW:bd05/31/2017:svnLENOVO:pn80VF:pvrLenovoYOGA910-13IKB:rvnLENOVO:rnAgera:rvrSDK0J40709WIN:cvnLENOVO:ct31:cvrLenovoYOGA910-13IKB: dmi.product.family: IDEAPAD dmi.product.name: 80VF dmi.product.version: Lenovo YOGA 910-13IKB dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1762989 Title: Display Port issues - screen blackouts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1762989/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1762986] Re: Display resolution of monitor via HDMI incorrectly identified
The issue did start appearing after an update on 17.10. I bought the Monitor on 29.11.2017, so it worked with the 17.10 kernel version around that time. Since HDMI on 4k only drives the Monitor @30Hz on my laptop, I bought a DP adapter. After the random screen black outs annoyed me too much I switched back to HDMI (around early this year). The monitor wasn't reliably recognized as a 4k monitor anymore. - I installed the 4.16 Kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.16.1/ - Powered the laptop off - Switched from DP to HDMI adapter - Boot up with 4.16.1 kernel Monitor resolution was correctly identified - Rebooted with 4.16.1 kernel Monitor was not anymore correctly identified. Instead of 3840x2160@30hz the was at 1920x1080@60Hz Maybe relvant HDMI adapter info: My Lenovo Yoga 910 has a combined Type-C USB3 & DP 1.2 connector. Re: [Bug 51043] Re: ListView - Context-menu options missing when pointer is above files/folders
What you are complaining about applies to closed source. Ever tried to convience microsoft to fix anything? The open source model is superior to any other - IMO. Most of development happens for customer projects because OS devs also have the neeed to make a living. Are you using gnome or any other OS software at all? - Original message - @wribeiro: They won't. That's why open source software sucks. Someone or some people start a project and then release something which is full of bugs and then they have some great ideas they want to work on and start developing those great features, but they don't like to fix bugs and because it's open source the developer(s) just say: "It's open source, so fix it yourself if it's bothers you." I hate that mentality of open source developers. They only care about the features they want to see implemented, but they really don't care about fixing bugs, even if those bugs still aren't fixed after ten years. The bugs don't bother them, so they just don't fix them. If you want them to be fixed, then you'll have to do it yourself. Do they really think everyone has programming skills? Besides that: If you develop something, then release something usefull or don't release anything at all. If you don't want to listen to your users and don't care about fixing bugs, then just keep the software and code for yourself. Just use it on your own computer and don't release anything at all. Only release your software to the public if you're willing to listen to the people who use it and are willing to fix the bugs they report. -- You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of a duplicate bug (389606). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/51043 Title: ListView - Context-menu options missing when pointer is above files/folders -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/51043 Title: ListView - Context-menu options missing when pointer is above files/folders -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
